MARTIN SAROVEC

Martin Sarovec acrylic painting ethnic size 69, portrait, acrylic on canvas, represented by knupp gallery los angeles, contemporary fine arts gallery SELECTED IMAGES
The nature of Martins body of work is expressive and figurative. His message focuses on making a statement around socially challenging issues, such as politics, war, and domestic violence. Each individual piece has a theme that influences if the work will be portrayed on canvas or on board, that supports the composition in the most powerful way. In 2015 and 2016 his recent work focuses around the “Ethnic Size cycle”. Sarovec’s work portrays a different reality, in a parallel world of ethnic groups, peoples stories are told through Martin’s canvases. Inviting the audience to ask themselves: Who is this person living his/her drama? We do not know if this is a current story, or of it happened long ago. He specializes in figurative expression. His unique painting style is clearly recognizable in his multiple figure scenes.
